10 WRONG Thinking on Healing
1. God BUILDS FAITH by trial, temptations, afflictions,
persecutions, tribulations, sickness and disease.
TRUTH: God builds faith through the word. Believing comes
through signs, wonders and miracles.
SCRIPTURE: So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by
the word of God. (Rom 10:17)
The devil brings trials, tribulation, temptation,
persecutions and afflictions on us to steal the word and make us doubt God and
the Word
(Mark 4:17, Luke 8, Matt 13), (the sower sows the word
parable)
2. WRONG BELIEVING: God uses sickness and circumstances to
TEACH and DISCIPLINE us.
TRUTH: If that were true, then the world would be super
smart by now because of all the diseases. He would be unfair to discipline us
by sickness because Jesus already carried our sickness.
SCRIPTURE: All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God,
and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness: (2 Tim 3:16)
The Holy Spirit teaches us. (1 Cor 2:13)
The anointing teaches us. (1 John 2:27)
3. WRONG BELIEVING: God uses circumstances and sickness to
HUMBLE US. God ALLOWS whatever happens to us to happen.
TRUTH: You humble yourself, and you can resist the devil.
SCRIPTURE: Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand
of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for
he cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a
roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in
the faith, you resist the devil. (1Pet 5:6) (Jms 4:7) (Jms 4:10) You humble
yourself.
4. WRONG BELIEVING: God uses circumstances and sickness in our
life to build godly CHARACTER in us.
TRUTH: If that were true, we all would be very godly,
because we’ve all been through trials. God uses the word to make us like Him.
He also has imparted to us His nature in the new birth.
SCRIPTURE: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and
precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (2 Pet 1:4)
5. WRONG BELIEVING: God GETS GLORY out of me being sick.
TRUTH: If God got glory out of you being sick, why do you
take medicine or see a doctor? You would be stealing God’s glory. If God gets
glory out of sickness, why not pray your children get sick so they, too, can
give God glory? Being healed gives God glory and demonstrates His love for us.
Healing is also demonstrated in that He is a risen Lord.
SCRIPTURE: He said to the paralyzed man, take up your bed
and go home. Immediately he rose... and departed home GLORIFYING God. (Luke
5:24-25)
Receive your sight... and immediately he received his sight
and followed Him glorifying God. (Luke 18:42-43)
6. WRONG BELIEVING: Healing is past. We receive our healing
when we die.
TRUTH: If healing is past, then the name of Jesus would not
work for salvation or anything else. The name of Jesus is just as powerful
today as it was when He was on earth. How do you explain the millions of people
who have been healed by God in the past years, if healing is not for today?
There will be no devil in heaven, therefore there will be no
sickness, so Jesus took our sickness and diseases so we could receive healing
on earth now.
SCRIPTURE: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and
forever. (Heb 13:8)
He went about healing all that were oppressed by the devil,
for God was with Him. (Acts 10:38)
Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in
health as your soul prospers. (3 John 1:2)
7. WRONG BELIEVING: God is testing me.
TRUTH: The words tempted and tested are the same Greek word.
The devil is called the tempter.
SCRIPTURE:
(Jesus) being tempted
(tested) for forty days by the devil. (Luke 4:2)
The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise… (In the parable of
the sower who sows the Word, the 2nd group of people are the ones that fall
away because of testing. This is the purpose of testing, to cause you to doubt
the integrity of God’s Word) (1 Cor 3:20)
but the ones that fell on the rocks… have no root who
believe for a while and in time of temptation (testing), fall away. (Luke 8:13)
Let no one say… I am tempted of God. For God cannot be
tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. (Jms 2:13)
8. WRONG BELIEVING: What about Paul’s thorn?
TRUTH and SCRIPTURE ”The thorn in the flesh“ is also a term
used two other places in the Bible. (Col 12:7) (Num 3:55, Judges 2:3)
It is a saying, meaning, as we would say today, “You are a
pain in the neck.” You must also consider that the messenger was sent to buffet
(hit over and over) Paul. Why? Because of the revelation he received of God.
Why would God tell Him something, then buffet him?
He asked God three times to remove it and God said, ”My
grace is sufficient for you.” God’s grace is undeserved favor, God’s
willingness to use His power and wisdom for us and toward us. God gave us an
abundance of grace.
We are told to resist
the devil and he will flee from you. (Jms 4:7) We are not told to ask God to do
it, but take authority ourselves. God was not saying, “No I can’t take it
away.” He said, “I gave you the power and authority, so that you would make it
leave.”
9. WRONG BELIEVING:
What about thanking God for everything?
being content in whatever state I’m in? (Eph 5:20, 1 Thess
5:18)
TRUTH: 1. If I reached into your friend’s pocket and took
out a five dollar bill and handed it to you, would you say, “Thank you, Robin”?
No, you would say thank you to your friend whose money it was.
My point being that you only thank God for what GOD gives
you, not what the devil gives you.
SCRIPTURE: Giving thanks to the Father…. Who has delivered
us from the power of darkness. (Col 1:12-14)
Whatever state I’m in to be content. (Phil 4:11)
Content (the Greek word): Strong Number #842 says it is
Autarkies. In the Greek, it means sufficient in oneself, adequate, needing no
assistance, therefore content. As you can see, it means totally the opposite of
what we have come to see it as meaning in today’s language. It does not mean I
am satisfied, no matter what situation I am in. So you should be
self-sufficient in yourself needing no assistance….
Look up these scriptures at least once a day and read them
out loud. Since faith comes by hearing the word, your faith will grow until you
receive your healing.
Ex 15:26 and 23:25, Deut 7:15, 28:1-14,61 and 30:19-20, 1
Kings 8:56, Ps 91:16, 103:3, 107:20 and 118:17, Prov 4:20-23, Is 41:10, and
53:4-5, Jer 1:12 and 30:17, Joel 3:10.
10. WRONG BELIEVING:
God is SOVEREIGN; He can do whatever He wants.
TRUTH: God made the earth and gave it to man. He said rule,
subdue and have authority over ALL the earth. God has made known His will.
Sickness and death are an enemy and we have authority over all the power of the
enemy.
SCRIPTURE: God is not a man that He would lie.
1. GOD gave man all authority and TOLD THEM TO: rule, subdue
and have authority (Gen 1:26-28)
2. You can have what you say. (what YOU say, not what God
says) That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou
cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that
those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he
saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. (Mark 11:22-24)
3. You are to bind and loosen.... I will give unto thee the
keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou (means YOU) shalt bind on
earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou(YOU) shalt loose on earth
shall be loosed in heaven. (Matt 16:19)
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth
shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be
loosed in heaven. (Matt 18:18)
4. God said if two agree on Earth, it would be done for them.
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any
thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in
heaven. (Matt18:19)
5. Jesus said He had all power over all power of enemy.
(Luke 10:19) You are in Him.
6. You resist the devil and he flees from YOU (James 4:7)
7. The whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.
Death, disease, poverty, destroying weather, lack, pain, fear, destroying
animals and bugs. (1 John 5:19) You are to change the things the devil brings
onto the earth with the kingdom of God within you. You are to bring JOY to
people grieving just like Jesus did. HEAL THE SICK.
God wants you to live on earth, as you will in Heaven. (Matt
6:10) He wants you to COME AS YOU ARE RIGHT NOW. If there are any flaws in you,
He will gently convict (not condemn) you to change them. I want to woo you to
FALL IN LOVE WITH GOD!
